I personally do not travel through a country that are biased and requires a transit visa for specific countries only. If you think about it, most of the international flights are full of us, Indians. If everybody (including Indians with GCs, that do not require a transit visa) start boycotting such airlines/country transits, then they will have to change this policy.
As I said before, I am never going to fly thru UK, even though I sill have a transit visa valid till Nov 2008. I can still feel the pain.

Saimrathi, you are posting the same message on all threads. Anyway, I am sure some of the media will pick up the story and write about it. I think there are benefits from this campaign. The name Immigration Voice is out there. We may get more members of our community to join us and participate in future campaigns and we can learn from experience on how to carry out future campaigns, protests etc. We had to speak out in some way on what happened to us with the USCIS Visa Bulletin fiasco. I believe it was worth it for all these reasons.

He/She posts the same thing across three threads and whats the point of the boxes being opened by Mr Gonzalez or being received by him intact. You must be trying to play spoil sport here or just acting childish. They haven't mentioned there whether dependents are included or not. So multiplying by 2.1 is probably not correct nor wrong at this point. I would think dependents are included in this. Everybody needs to file an I-485 I presume and they are just counting the pending ones.

The USCIS has said this this is the number of pending I-485s, so it does include pending dependent I-485s. Folks,
I got a call from the Ombudsman Office today morning was told that my case is in "transit". When is asked her what it means she told it is going to be reviewed by an IO. I got the similar response to my SR that "your case is pending adjudication by IO" so don't know what to make out of it in the sense that its been removed from the shelf and sitting in some pile and IO will get to it when he/she can?
Did any one get their GC approved after their case was in transit? How long did it take?

Another thought... they might have been confused with EAD through L1/B1 etc dependent and EAD through pending AOS. The first case is temporary and depends on the primary applicant status. See if thats their concern and clarify...

It does not matter. EAD is unrestricted employment authorization and has no conditions attached due to basis it was issued. Of course, EAD can be revoked due to basis no longer available (such as expiration of L2 Status), but person can work as long as EAD is valid.

When you buy a home you sign a contract saying you will pay the loan amount at the end of the loan term with interest. There was a commitment made. And you are saying people who walk away without fulfilling their obligation are smart? Fool!
And who do you think is footing the bill for bailing out those banks? its you and me! You are not only not honest and ethical, you must be really dumb if you think you are not going to be paying for the mistakes of people like punjabi when they "walk away" from their homes!
I was asking for Ideas.. it is not just Kumar or some more people giving an idea that one should leave the house if the value of the house has gone down and now you have to move because of ur job and it is hard selling ur house where u may have to bear a loss ..
I already had conversation with american people ( not any desi's) in my office and they also had the same opinion as to leave a house if u have to leave because of job..
U tell me how wise it is to give a loan to a person without a down payment..The reason i said that other people are stupid is because.. i took an ARM loan of 5 years,, where i knew that i am not going to live in the house for more than 3 years and will later sell it..and there are people who knew that they are going to stay in the same house for more than their ARM period.. but didnt realize that they wont be able to make payment once the rate is re-adjusted.. i am calling those people's decision as stupid..

Which organization is the cause of the namecheck delay....

If I am not wrong, USCIS sends the data to be checked on a weekly basis to FBI on a Electronic disk or tape. More than 90 % of the cases are returned, I assume on a disk or tape back to USCIS. So only a small fraction should be stuck in name check...
Could it be that USCIS is not updating the files in a timely manner with the namecheck information?
Also looking at data, a whole bunch of people got their namwecheck claered in a couple of months...
Any thoughts???

I plan to talk to my lawyer today. My past experience is that lawyers don't give all the options themselves. You have to know what options you have and then they will give advice on that.
So if anybody has gone through similar situation, please give your inputs. I am sure many other people can benefit from this information.

I would like to give update on visa availability. My PD is 03/06- EB2. Opened SR for me and my spouse on 08/30/10
1. For me, letter by USPS came stating that, I485 is at USCIS local office and will notify about decision in 30 days
2. Spouse got below response by email (On 09/13/2010)
"The status of this service request is:
Your I-485 application is waiting for a visa number to become available. When it becomes available, it will be assigned to an adjudicator to make a decision on the case.
If you have not heard from the service within 30 days after your number becomes available, you can make an Info pass appointment to visit the Customer Service Division,
at the District office"
On 09/14/10 we took infopass and spoke to customer service representative. She told that visa Numbers are not available any more and also checked validity of finger prints in system.
Told us that they are expired (Till now we gave 2 times, one in sept 07, 2nd one in may 09 (FP are valid for for 15m)) - I guess we need to give 3 rd time soon.
She told that dates for FP at ASC center are not available and will try to send us ASAP when Visa Numbers are available.

No disrespect to Al-Jazeera. But putting our story on that channel is not a good idea. People view anything on it with lot of suspicion, and Fox news interprets everybody Al-Jazeera sympathizes with as you know what.
Don't come after me for saying this, its not my opinion. But general opinion that I have observed from people who are not well informed(read majority of people). Lets focus on the main stream media in US, outside coverage is not that significant anyway.

My company applied 100 485's . 85 from NSC and 15 from TSC (140 aproval). All NSC people got receipts, some of got FP's also. But TSC people still waiting for checks to be cleared.
