Be careful before contacting this group. If you visit their main website <www.irishlobbyusa.org>, the very first sentence states that, "WHO WE ARE: ILIR has been set up to lobby the US government on behalf of the estimated 40,000 undocumented Irish in the US. ILIR supports the Kennedy/McCain bill".
So, their fight is primarily geared in support of undocumented (read "Illegal") people.
We already have enough problems educating common people and lawmakers about the differences between legal and illegal immigrants. Let us not add fuel to the fire ourselves.
Thats just my personal opinion.

Just got back to the US last night. Had visa interview in London on 14th January and got passport back on January 24th. Actually took six working days since there was a weekend and MLK day in the way. Twice as long as on previous occasions.
Booked my trip in October so thought I had left plenty of time for passport to come back. How wrong I was. Had to put flight back by two days and then only just made it.

on as side note, only 3 co-sponsors were added in this month, meaning our efforts ARE paying off but need more momentum.

Thanks folks for your wishes. I had not been active on the volunteering side due to multiple reasons and other day to day challenges and career.
I agree with a lot of people in the community that it is a challenge to balance a challenging personal life, especially in a country like America where regular day to day life poses many challenges.
In the green card process, the challenge is just not about one needing a job to fulfill day to day needs but to secure a future for him/her and family.
A lot of people I have come across through IV have been absolutely amazing in stepping up and doing what they do and this platform provided by IV (Aman, Pappu, Jay etc..) has been a blessing for all of us.
I have written to IV core that I will continue to support IV and its activities.

Thanks IV. I think this is much easier for hundreds of people to participate as its easy, doesent take up too much time etc. and brings about our points across as compared to DC rally (please dont get me wrong here it was great but difficult for lot of people to attend because of various reasons). So I think we should spread out word about this as much as possible. Again, please dont get me wrong. Thank you.

You got it right.
They have thier own of operation. My CPO status was registered on Aug 5th. I got CPO email the next day. Then on August 12 it went back to post decision activity. I got the approval or welcome mail (snail) on August 12th itself. After that there is not change or update. All we can do is to sit back and wait for little bit more.
this saturday I got the welcome snail mail. but no CPO mail. The status online has been 'Decision' all the time with no change.

Hi,
I do not have medical records to prove that I have taken some of the vaccination that is mandatory for the medical test. However, I do have taken those and my Doctor back in India has those records. Is there a way people know that these records in "any format" / a "specific format" can be faxed or fedexed here and can be used?
Any help will be highly apprciated.

On top of that these smart asses think they are answerable to none - since this is just a matter of 'to be' immigrants.
Now the class action suit proposed by AILF will surely shock them from their oblivion and bring them down to REAL world.
All said and done...anyway the gates will open in Oct 2007 !!! Guys and Gals...go enjoy your week end !!!

If I am not wrong, buffering wud be to take in new 485 applications, process them and keep them ready.
In that context, most of the applications till 07/07 have been preadjudicated, new buffer wud require dates to be pushed to 07/07 or later.
I would think they move to 07/07 first to see any missing demand to appear in the next month or two and then move significantly, if needed, in the final quarter!

I agree the numbers seem to include dependents. I mean while looking at EB2 numbers you can see average 1000 - 1500 applications per month which translates to roughly 400 - 700 primary applications (labor) filed each month. That looks reasonable.

There is no change in my wife's 485 status. But her EAD is approved. There is no mention of card production in the email.
