I raised SR on Aug 12th..No Response Yet...
Infopass appointment said that my file got assigned to Examination officer on Aug 4th...Not sure if Examination Officer and IO are same or not...
But the real kicker is i got second FP on July 26th, 2010 for Code 1...I didnt see any LUD after second FP...I am guessing this is where i am stuck with second time name check or back ground check verifications...
Also is it good to go for DHS 7001 form right way...i mean ombudsman request...
I will propose that you call USCIS customer service and talk to a 2nd level officer to find out the status of your case.. It doesn't hurt to pursue from this point.
I am unaware of any concrete proof that contacting Congressman or Ombudsman has actually helped directly...Most of us are just speculating on this.
I think you need to hear the fact that your case is assigned to an officer..Then it is just a matter of time.

Me and my wife had done finger printing on 09/10. On 09/15my wife got the clearnace from FBI and it is loaded into the system. I went to local immigration office and they did some searched and they told me that FBI loaded my finger printing detail using my social security number and not by the A number. Local IO can see the finger printing but when I called the Texas office they said they can't see the FP detail, and i tried again after some time got hold of another IO and she was able to search by my first and last name and saw in the system.
I opened an SR got a response that my FP is not received from FBI. So confusion is some IO officer who is trying other option to do search are able to see but not all the IO and that is delaying my approval process.
Any help or suggestion will be appreciated

In my opinion it is very naive to think that USCIS/DOL just realized that they had 'misinterpreted' the law. They had made it very clear how they allocated 'available' visa numbers after AC-21 was introduced, and I am sure they consulted with the law-makers.
It's almost funny to read that they consulted with today congress. How would they now of the intentions of the congress in 2000?
According to Ron's post, 70% are from India and China, and Mexico is also reaching the ceiling. They realized that the only way to shift those numbers is to give more visas to India and China. The ambiguity of the law for the preference of vertical vs. horizontal spill-over allowed them to do that.

I got the same approval notice. But online status showing as Card Production Ordered. What does it say for you? Do you see any difference in the status between you and your wife?
My on line status says the following:
"Post Decision Activity
On September 10, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations
".
There has been no other status change on my case.

You are wrongly mixing "country limit 7 %" into a "category limit 28.6%". Please read visa bulletin content.

My $0.02. This could be a pre-emptive measure on the part of AILA. There must have been some talk at the state department of mid-month regression. This might be a strategy to scotch that. Raise a ruckus and send a message that we are prepared to file a law suit. Who knows? We are mere pawns in this grand game.
