Got GC for me and for my wife.
It was a long frustrating wait time.I am glad its over now. My best wishes to those that are still waiting.
No RFE at any stage, straight forward case, one time took infopass to just find out the status. Total Wait time 5 and half years.
Here are the dates:
I received the card order production mail on 9 June 2008.
Received the welcome letter on 13th June.2008
Received the Card on 16th June.
PD: June 2001 - EB2- India
I 484 applied on 28 th June 2007 - NSC.
Finger print on Aug 26 th. 2007- NSC.
Sep 26 Got EAD. 2007 - NSC.
Original Labor - Sep 2002, Approved in 2006
Labor substitution on May 1st week. 2007 - NSC.
140 approved on May 2nd week. 2007
Joined fulltime April 3rd week, 2008. New employer applied H1 and received.

Mirage - I totally support you man. You got to do what your heart feels like ... If you get too tired of waiting and living this CHAINNNNED life and you want to meet Mr President to let him know how you feel - man by all means you got to do it.. Remember the flutter of a butterfly wings in Jailsalmer starts a tornado in florida... there are numerous occassions when one single man's stand changed the entire nation .. I totally support you . If the good old USA is still a FREE COUNTRY then there is no reason why you should not go ahead...
As for getting support from others it is nice to have support but it does not mean that if they do not support you , you are wrong. Friends I think we should stop digging till the last quarter. I believe finally then all the optimism, hopes and dreams will come true. Best of luck to all, since we have all waited for so long 3 months are not so far, I feel many of us have burnt ourselves waiting and speculating this bulletin. The disappointment is really understandable. Many in the group are looking to just file 485 to get EAD/AP; I don't know when our day will come.

Unless the person affected comes forward and tells what happened this will be considered as rumor. It can be posted in forums. I think no action can be taken by IV or anyone if affected person does not come forward .

I know its not fake..because I have 3 people on our floor who came from a visit..who saw these kind of things happening right in front of them (and my friends were GCs so I guess they themselves were left alone).
Now coming to point of posting their experiences themselves..especially in a situation where they were not allowed to enter US, I dont think they have any incentive left to post and seek help from fellow IV..once they are out they are out..
Nothing can bring them back unless they file a new petition and go for stamping..
I can imagine how much pain they might be going through, touchwood if I was to be one ofthem, I dont see myself posting my experience for 3 months or so..

All Im asking for is clarity. DOS needs to come out and say that based on current demand we except your priority date to be current between x and y date. Even if the x and y is something ridiculous like 8 or 10 ys I am cool with it. Atleast we will know where we stand and not try to be hopeful and depressed with each VB. We need some good estimates to make imp life decision.

But when it comes to skill based immigration it is ridiculous to maintain country caps. Someone said it takes about two months for G-28 to take effect. Sometime jobs changes may not allow that much time. So for that duration RFE or other documents may still go to last attorney. Is there a way to do it online or request for immediate transfer?
Also - if we represent self and later for some complex cases we need experienced attorney help do we need to file G-28 again?

Racism is there everywhere, we find it in US also, even in India, you find caste system and inter state racism. With rising opportunities, such things may not really be visible especially in places where there are free zones.

I totally agreed with you. This system has to be cleaned. If a system is being misused then the Gov will take some action. I also dont think they want to remove all Indians from US. I believe they will link this system with a new system similar to JRE and TOFFEL so that a police inspector from India can not come as PL/Sql programmer no matter who is hiring. I know my comment will hurt lot of people here.

I have heard that story many times from multiple people, each one telling their own version. Its just like religion, where every one is stupified by other's ignorance and having fun at others expense. Can you name that police officer? Now you won't reply. As far as I know there are atleast 5-6K applicants waiting with PDs before Dec-2003. Considering 3 visas used for each applicant. There'll be a requirement of atleast 15-20K Green Card numbers for Indian EB3 to clear people up to Dec'2003. While EB3 gets a maximum of 3K/Year. My guess is it'll take 5-6 Years to get the EB3 to Dec'2003.
Including spillover generally EB3-I clears up around 5000 visas per year on average ( Though theoratically stuck at 3300-3500). 3 visas per applicant is at bit high end. I would not assume everybody is married AND have child.. I would put that around 1.75. But, yes, even if select these new parameters than also it would take years..Theoratically, ofcourse:):)

nojoke dont get emotional. we have no bone to pick with either obama or mcccain. We are talking about who is better for eb immigrants, so either you talk about what obama can offer or has offered to eb immigrants, unfortunately you cannot because obama is anti eb immigrants, so you are spewing the democratic talking points here and changing the topic. Here is a word of caution for this community, the light at the end of the tunnel IS FOR SURE the fast approaching train, and its very close, so be prepared and do what you can to protect yourself.
Regardless of the palin heart beat away from being president, qualification, charisma, campaign message, and other politics, just find out who introduced Obama at the DNC convention. Folks, not sure how one can prepare when one is sure to be hit by a train but I have to say - be prepared because you are about to be hit by a train.

Mine and spouse I 485 are approved on 5th Oct 2010 after RFE and answering it.
But Kids one is not approved showing online status as initial review.
I called USCIS and came to know that I can not create second SR until I complete 30 days after answering first SR.
But I did not get answer for first SR. They are saying There is RFE on principal candidate application.
But that one is cleared and approved.
I escalated the issue to second level and then they are mentioning my kids one is also approved on last Monday. But still the online status is showing as initial review.
Is it or same kind of thing happened to any one else?
Please guide your experience.

I feel that we should be working towards recapturing the unused visa numbers / being able to file for 485, instead of focusing on costly law suits, given that the chances of winning are slim. I hope that I will be proven wrong as Rajiv hopes. You might ask me about the chances of getting them recaptured. That might be slim as well, but that will get rid of the base problem which is retrogression, if at all we are successful. Just my thoughts. The last para of Rajiv's post summarizes very clearly why the court will dismiss the case, even if they find DOS & USCIS to be wrong. I can confidently tell you that USCIS is not going to give rejection notices to any one in the next 45 days. They know that the more they delay the rejection notices, the more the time it will take for plaintiffs to file a case. By that time the VB will come up with some dates instead of "U". As Rajiv said, there might have been many instances of these lawsuits in which USCIS got away. I doubt, if we can even touch the DOS on this because, CA/VO is just one part of DOS and DOS is too powerful to be touched

most of the desi consultants seem to be concentrated in NJ or Chicago. Are there any reliable desi consultants for H-1 in CA? What are the websites which give info in this direction?
